Here's a preview of a senior photo session I had with Ilaria, an Italian foreign exchange student at Vinton-Shellsburg. Our original appointment turned out to be on a rainy day, so the shoot was rescheduled. The day of our rescheduled session was really cold, and it snowed! So appropriate for Ilaria though, being that she is a downhill competitive skier back in Italy! Ilaria was a trooper and stuck out the chilly weather to capture some amazing images. You can't even tell she's freezing! It was really difficult to choose just a few to share...what a beauty!
I added some texture to these photos...love the combination with the tracks and Ilaria's bright purple sweater!
Thanks Ilaria. I had so much fun at our session, and am so glad to have met you!

The Kulish Family
I finally had the pleasure of photographing the Kulish family this past weekend. After trying to come up with a day for our session while working through this family's busy schedule (five kids will do that to you) and postponing our session due to sickness, we finally got our session in. Unfortunately, the day turned out to be very cold and very windy. We had to work fast to keep from freezing, but we did it. And I'm so glad we did! As the photos show, this family is a beautiful one, with such great style. I LOVE the colors they chose...their wardrobe selections really make the photos pop!
I really like the vintage feel of this next shot. Vintage, yet modern & urban...
Here's Sophie, nicknamed 'Konk' due to her accident prone tendencies. Dad had the great idea of writing her nickname on the ground with a broken piece of brick...
This little girl is the same age as my little girl. But if I were to try and take photos of Chloe on the cold day we had to work with for this session, she would have had nothing to do with it. Sophie, on the other hand, was a pro. Such a good girl, smiling through the chattering teeth and shivers!
If you've ever seen the work of graffiti artist Banksy, then this next image may look familiar. It's my interpretation of Banksy's 'Girl with a Balloon.' Yes, I'm a total art geek. But I just love his urban style.
Here's Banksy's original...
And my version...{Sophie wasn't even given direction on her pose. See what I'm saying, a complete pro! She must be a Banksy fan too.}
Thank you for letting me spend some time with your family. I hope you love the images we captured!
